Re-doing old vintage school desks {Post 1 of 2}

A few years ago, I got 2 old school desks from a lady who was cleaning out her garage. I got them for free {what a deal!} They were in pretty decent shape. My girls used them for awhile, and then they wound up in our garage, where they sat for the longest time.

Just recently I decided that I was going to spruce them up, and find a new spot for them indoors. I decided that I would paint them bright colors, and let my girls chose which colors they liked.

I found this awesome paint at the Home Depot in “Berry” which covers beautifully! I also bought the color “Grape” as well, and “Candy Pink.” All in gloss.

First things first. My hubby started taking them apart {one at a time} to get them ready for cleaning and prepping! They were pretty easy to clean, and didn’t really need much sanding.

We completed one desk last night and I will be working on the 2nd today! 🙂

I’ll be sure to post pictures of the finished desks soon. I need to get the 1st one put back together, and when that is done, I’ll share pics. Stay tuned! 😀
