Yesterday’s appointment went pretty fast, and I learned that I indeed do have a fibroid.
In my ultrasound several weeks ago, the tech saw it, and I discussed it with my doctor. She said it could be, that we would keep and eye on it, and take a peek, next appointment. Fast forward to yesterday:
We looked and it was definitely there. Also when she did some pressing around on me, we both could feel it as well. She measured, and it looks to be around 2.5 centimeters in diameter. As far as where it is located, it should cause no problems in my pregnancy or with the baby. She assured me that the baby is fine and will be. The only thing that could happen, is that they grow sometimes in pregnancy, and where it is located, if it grows, it could block the baby from coming down during delivery. That means, if it does, I’ll have to have a c-section. Eeek! *sure* That’s scary! I was hoping that it wasn’t a fibroid, but since it is, all we can do is keep an eye on it.
So all in all, the good news is that my placenta is on the opposite side of the fibroid. I’ve had no bleeding or cramping, which is also good! *face* What we have to watch for, is to see if it grows.
Otherwise, the baby is looking great, and I am great! While doing the ultrasound, the baby was moving all over the place, as if running from the “camera”…LOL! She’s a very active little girl, that’s for sure!
I’m trying to remember everything, which is why this post may seem so jumbled…LOL!
I did some reading online and found this article on Discovery Health. There’s lots of info out there, so off I go to read up a little more.
Have a great day! *smile*

Yaaayyy I am glad to hear you and the baby are doing well. Don’t worry about that fibroid. I had a few of them and it never affected the pregnancy. By the way I notice you changed the face of your blog again. I LOVE IT!
