This is a pic from several years ago. It’s Jacey’s little hands & her eggs. (*)
In the past, we always bought those kits. You know…a big box with 6 little tablets and some itty-bitty stickers…LOL! Well, I know they don’t cost much anyway, but why buy those Easter Egg dyeing kits when you can simply use what you have at home? All you need is hot water, food dye and vinegar. Don’t we all have those sitting in our pantry already?
All you basically need is this: paper or plastic to cover your workspace, different cups or bowls for the different colors you will create (preferably deep ones) , 3/4 cup hot water (for each bowl) and 1 tbsp. white vinegar (for each bowl). As for the food dye, you add around 20 or so drops to your water. There you go! Simple & easy. You can then let the kiddos decorate with stickers and such if they like!
You can also give your eggs a nice sheen by rubbing them with a paper towel with vegetable oil on it. It will give them a nice shiny appearance. 🙂
We will be dyeing eggs soon–and I will definitely post pics….so stay tuned. 😉
