The Road Trip

I recently found out that my mother’s health has took a turn for the worse. A last minute decision was made to take a trip to Georgia to visit my family. After weighing the costs, we decided we would drive to Georgia. I really wanted to see my family, as I haven’t since 2004 -at my wedding. A trip was LONG overdue.
Two days later, we are here! It took 2 full days of driving to get here, We left Saturday morning, and got here Sunday night at around 10:30 pm. Saturday night, we stopped late at a hotel and slept, then was back at it Sunday morning. It was a LONG drive that seemed like it would never end…LOL! Day 1 was fun, but on day 2 we were tired of it. Although I will say that we enjoyed seeing the states from the view of our SUV. Flying, you don’t get to see all of that, but then again, with flying you’re there MUCH faster, ha!
It was great, though! I forgot how beautiful Tennessee is. Breathtaking! As for Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, & Kentucky, it was all new to me. It was really cool! 🙂
Here are the states we drove through, in order! North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, and then finally GEORGIA! PHEW! 😉 What a trip!
So here we are in our hotel in Savannah, Georgia! Next post will be more about our hotel & much more–stay tuned! 😀
