So lately, I have been on the “homemade household products” kick! After making the DIY Fabric Softener the other day, I wanted to try my hand at doing the DIY Dryer Sheets. They seemed simple enough-that’s for sure!
This recipe seemed pretty simple & straight-forward. Fabric softener and coffee filters. That’s it. Well, and a container to put them in, too. 😉
I had some fabric softener on hand that I found on clearance at Kmart. Seemed like a pretty good deal.
Here’s the deal: add about a tsp of fabric softener to the coffee filter and rub around. Lay flat and add to container. Just keep doing each coffee filter the same way and stack inside of an airtight container. Of course, you don’t want the coffee filters to be sopping wet, so you may want them to dry just a little before stacking and storing. This recipe is very easy, and seems to work pretty well in the dryer, too. 🙂
Now, I only did a handful at first to make sure it is something that I like and works. I’ll more than likely be doing this again in the near future.
There are several recipes like this out there. With some recipes, you can use washcloths, or any number of items in place of the coffee filters. Coffee filters can be bought for super cheap, so I wanted to try this particular recipe out. Maybe I’ll try the others at some point, too! 😉
If you try this, let me know what you think! 😀
The next time I do this, I think I’ll use a spray bottle filled with fabric softener. It would be less time consuming and probably not quite as messy!
