Thanksgiving Dinner-what are your must-have foods?

I love Thanksgiving! I have very fond memories of my mom in the kitchen, working away, making everyone’s favorite foods. She made banana pudding, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, sweet potato casserole, homemade mac and cheese, green bean casserole, the turkey of course with homemade stuffing, and much more. It was a big event in my family when I was growing up. Everyone came over for dinner, and everyone had their favorites! We always had plenty to eat, and it was all so yummy! My mom was a great cook! My only wish is that I knew how to cook some of these recipes, just the way she did. Of course I can make them, but they are never like hers. 😉

My favorites are green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole and pecan pie. I mean, I love everything she made, but these three things we {now} normally don’t have year round, so I have to have them at Thanksgiving. My hubby and youngest daughter don’t care for green bean casserole, but my oldest daughter loves it like I do. 🙂
