I just wanted to share some of my favorite photos of when we went to the Dakota Zoo in Bismarck a couple of weeks back. My favorite thing about this zoo is the big cats. I could sit and watch them the whole day..LOL! I LOVE cats of all kinds! 😀
Is this snow leopard not beautiful!? I just love his big, fuzzy tail! 😀
A favorite of mine–The Tiger! {A few of them!}
Ok, maybe this post is all about the cats…lol. Look at this big guy! He was right on top of us–over our heads!
Look at that giant paw!
This zoo isn’t really huge. It’s about 3 1/2 hours away from where we live. We have a zoo in our area, but it doesn’t
have my favorite animals….so the drive to this zoo was totally worth it! 😀
There was a lot more to see at Dakota Zoo. They have brown bears there and wolves {my hubby’s favorite} and lots more! It was a fun little trip! Here is a link to my Flickr album with more pics from our day.

How cool is that? My kids love the zoo, too!
I have to admit that it bothers me to see animals in captivity….
I have to admit I’m a bit bothered by it, too. This zoo is set up a bit differently than a lot of the other zoos. It’s more of a natural habitat kind of zoo, if you know what I mean. It’s smack dab in the woods, not like a big city zoo. I mean if it were up to me, they would roam free in their natural habitat. Zoo’s are all over and this is just a fact. I feel like as long as they are treated well and have enough space to be free {enough}..then I can do nothing but try and accept it. 😉
Gorgeous pictures – love BIG cats. I really liked seeing them in more of a natural habitat than behind bars.
That’s awesome! I feel like every time we go to the zoo, we never get to see the cats!
Big cats impress me every time I see them. That cat is totally chilled out on that roof!
Wow what a really great zoo! I’ll have to plan a trip there to take my kids one day!
We don’t have many opportunities for a zoo trip around here. The closest one is a little zoological park called Animaland and it is over an hour away. The children loved that and I am sure they would love this zoo. We are just too far away. I love the pictures of the big cats. My girls would love it. Animaland had a tiger the girls adored.
I miss visiting some zoos. I would love to see those kind of tigers again. Looks so awesome!
