Your body is your temple, so treat it well.
The seasons are changing. Depending on where you are in the world, the days are getting lighter in the morning. You could still be adjusting to time changes and fitting your health regimes around your climate and the Coronavirus Pandemic’s current situation.
Keeping your mind, body, and soul healthy and strong during this time of unprecedented change is so important. Exercise and fitness regimes are excellent at sharpening your resilience and focusing your mind.
Finding the right exercise is also vital to engaging all of your senses and allowing your body to find its natural balance. You may also consider merging a few different exercise styles; this helps to strengthen all of your body and help support your immune system.
Martial Arts can be a great form of exercise that is packed full of life-enhancing benefits. It supports you physically, mentally, and spiritually in equal measure and accelerates your journey to reach your peak potential.
Many forms of Martial Arts can provide you with targeted aspects of training your body and mind to achieve excellence and the resilience to face anything that life throws at you with ease.
Tai Chi and Shaolin kung fu are at two ends of the spectrum in the pantheon of Martial Arts techniques and disciplines. The disciplines of Tai Chi can help you improve your balance and coordination, which is of great importance in particular to people with Parkinson’s disease, memory, insomnia, anxiety, depression, and back and skeletal problems.
It also helps balance your Chi or life force energy, allowing you to create harmony and flow through all of your energy meridians.
Exercise should be balanced alongside a nutrient-rich diet that supports your body, immune system and strengthens your stamina.
To excel at any form of Martial Arts, you will need to eat a sensible diet that consists of the following food elements: lean proteins – like fish; eggs; nuts; seeds; and lean meats; carbohydrates, such as whole grains, vegetables, fruit and healthy fats which include oils and avocados.
When practising Shaolin Kung Fu, support your body by following the Shaolin Temple Diet, which focuses on eating a bean and grain congee made by adding nuts, seeds, dried fruit, goji berries, Chinese dates. The congee creates a protein and vegetable-rich lunch or dinner. Alternatively, you may also eat the Eight Treasure Congee, which is the perfect fuel before you commence any forms of disciplined Martial Arts training.
Tibetan meditation is an excellent practice, said by Buddhists to tame your monkey mind. Meditation helps to train your mental muscle, your brain releasing any stresses, and focusing your mind. Following a regular meditation routine, can help you elevate your health, happiness, harmony, and joyfulness in life. Helping you find balance and a renewed vigour for life – bringing you to inner peace and serenity.
In the midst of chaos, you need to remember to love yourself.
